I know, it's been a fair while since my last post and it's not even a real one, just advertising the some AUSOUG events. I've been busy traveling, working, and generally getting my affairs in order - or is that getting my affairs generally in order?
Anyhoo, the next Perth AUSOUG Branch meeting will be a doozy, with my wonderful boss Penny Cookson talking about new features of Apex 4.0
Where: eCentral Tafe, 140 Royal Street, East Perth
When: Wednesday, May 19, 2010 4:15pm - 6:00pm
RSVP: to Ailsa Wotherspoon to advise your attendance by close of business on 18-MAY-2010
I will also be presenting at branch meeting soon, tentatively booked as 14th July. My topic will cover using Oracle Text (formerly Oracle interMedia) with Oracle Apex. If you have any specific questions regarding this topic, or have any particular concepts you would like covered - let me know and I'll see what I can include.

Hi Scott,
I'll definitely be interested in your Oracle Text-on-Apex discourse.
I've been meaning for quite a while to get around to improving the search function on our site, which at the moment only allows single-keyword searching across multiple fields (including a freetext field) - my users really need a search that takes multiple search terms or phrases, and ranks results by relevance. The ability to register synonyms will also be needed, I think.
If you'd like to make an example of my site, let me know :)
Well, I finally got around to incorporating Oracle Text into my Apex app. Works well - thanks for the inspiration :)
(idea + inspiration) * time = success :-)
